We are building infrastructure in Nepal for high throughput phenotyping of plant pathogens using remote sensing and molecular techniques. Due to climate change and globalization, the emergence and spread of novel plant pathogens are imminent. Hence, containment of the novel pathogens will be crucial for national food security. Therefore, to get a handle on the emergence of novel plant pathogens, we are building tools using recent advancements in biotech and computer science to rapidly detect plant pathogens and effectively contain them.
